HireAHelper Spearheads ‘We Won’t Move You, Chargers’ Movement

The NFL’s recent announcement that they will relocate the San Diego Chargers franchise to Los Angeles was not the siren song you might have imagined for Southern Californian moving companies.

San Diegans have by and large expressed grief over the NFL’s decision, leading local movers to strike a pledge: “We won’t move you, Chargers.”

Spearheaded by HireAHelper, their credo has found a digital home of the same name: “WeWontMoveYouChargers.com“. And by any measure, the response has been overwhelming.

Ryan Charles, head of marketing at HireAHelper explains his role as the mover’s organizer:

“We didn’t want to be a part of that move, and we started thinking maybe other San Diego moving companies didn’t want to either.

We can do something. Let’s put a voice to it and build this site.”

The website alone has been shared nearly 20 thousand times, with countless national media outlets, social media drumming and feverish word of mouth fueling the buzz.

“There’s been such an overwhelming response … we’ve had over 50,000 shares … it’s really resonating with people because they love the team,” adds Charles.

Even as the Chargers are set to physically relocate through whatever means necessary, dozens of Southern Californian moving companies can rest well knowing they stood up with their community. And the whole world stopped and listened.
