Should I Stay or Should I Go

Residents Torn As Their Homes Collapse

Being told your home is in danger of falling into the ocean can’t be fun. Being ordered to move out of your home is probably not any better. But that is exactly what is happening to residents of an apartment building in Pacifica, California, just down the peninsula from San Francisco.

The cliffs under these ocean view apartments are eroding, bringing with it the very real threat of those apartments tumbling down to the sand and the surf below in the not-too-distant future. The city is trying to get state and federal funding to address the emergency, but in the meantime residents are being told they have to move out.

None of this is funny. But the contrast in reactions from two residents in this ABC News video is interesting to say the least.

Let’s hope they all find firmer ground soon.
