Last year we compared prices of moving boxes from a variety of large retailers (like Wal-Mart, Home Depot, Lowe’s, Menards, Amazon, etc.) in order to highlight where you can get the most BANG for your buck when purchasing boxes for your next move. We still love that post, but this time, we did one better.
Instead of trying to find the best deal on moving boxes, we did a little more digging to find where you can get FREE moving boxes. Yes, as in getting all of your boxes without even having to open your wallet.

According to the FBI, home burglaries are the most common threat to a home. Burglars are nearly three times more likely to target homes without alarm systems.
There’s a loophole in the alarm system marketplace though; People cite moving as the number one reason why they cancel their alarm system service. Considering the average amount of times a person moves in their lifetime is currently calculated at over 11, now must be a good time to be a burglar.
But there are ways to make moving an alarm system way more effective. Yeah, moving the system can be a pain, but these things will make the entire process far more effective and easier.

Just recently a friend of ours bought a lake house in the woods of Wisconsin. She kept her house in the Chicagoland area, but was excited to use this second property to relax, entertain, and make new memories on the weekends and throughout the summer.
As much as she wanted to move-in and start enjoying this space immediately, she had some work to do before it was “move-in ready”. She was limited to making this new property her “home away from home” on the weekends, when she would physically travel up to the new property and get to work. (more…)

This month we take a look at one company that is helping provide all of that – and much, much more. (more…)
